I agree: Every book by Linda Castillo with the Amish has been a good read.

I just finished Laura Dave's The Last Thing He Told Me and I really enjoyed it...finished it too quickly !!!  Put another on hold in Cloud Library.

I'm reading an older book by Sue Monk Kidd, The Book of Longings.  It's set in the biblical time of Jesus.  I'm midway through and so far am enjoying it.

Reread Origin by Dan Brown.  It veers about a bit but an interesting take on humans and technology.

Gave up on Ladies-in-Waiting by Victoria Evens.  Even for me, who likes history, there were just too many names.

Today will pick something lighter.

Re: MARCH 2026 READ ANY GOOD BOOKS LATELY?

I'm currently reading Winter: the Story of a Season by Val McDermid.  It is not a crime novel, more of a personal memoir of winters from her Scottish childhood and meditations on fall and winter traditions.  Very nice and soothing read.

I recently finished The Return of the Maltese Falcon by Max Allan Collins.  If, like me, you can't get enough of Sam Spade, you will probably enjoy it.  I didn't feel I was reading the words of Dashiell Hammett, which of course I was not, but I enjoyed the ride.

@Travone Mentioning a book set in biblical times, the best book I have ever read was "Dear and Glorious Physican" about "St Luke" written by Taylor Caldwell.  Of all the many books I have read, it is my very favorite.  I am a fast reader but I found myself deliberately slowing down because I did not want it to end.  I loved most of  Taylor Caldwell's books.  Made you feel like you were actually visiting the past.
