I started the Tenant by Freida McFadden. So far so good, only on page 101 though.....I am sure if it is anything like her others, it will be a good, fast read.....

Wait'll you get near the end. I was so confused I almost PTB.

I've read two of her books and wont bother with any more. Yes they are fast reads, because her writing is simplistic and repetitive. Trying to stretch out the suspense. Her money makers are the big shocking twists. Which make the books read like clickbait. She definitely has a pattern, a formula.

Re: JULY 2025 READ ANY GOOD BOOKS LATELY?

I just finished reading, The Book Club for Troublesome Women by Marie Bostwick. It's about a group of women in the 60s who get together to form a book club, women with nothing in common except they live in the same neighborhood. I grew up in the 60s but had forgotten how little power women had, needing husband's approval for things like getting birth control and even having a checking account. The theme during that time was "we've come a long way, baby", and this book reminds me that, although we may have a ways to go, we've surely come further than back then. I didn't want to let go of the characters in this one, loved each one of them.

Finished my 10th book of July.  The Homemade God by Rachel Joyce.  It was pretty good but not the best dysfunctional family book I've read.

@pateacher - I LOVED Broken Country!!!!!  Read it in one day because I absolutely couldn't put it down.  It is basically a love story with an added murder trial, plus twists upon twists upon twists at the end.  Easy to read and very well-written.  Without a doubt, one of my favorite books of the year!
