It seems there's a website for everything, but I haven't found one to let me know about new releases from Steve Hamilton, Michael Connelly, and similar authors.

You can go to the authors website you are interested in and they sometimes have a sign up page for you to be notified about upcoming books. Also you can "follow" an author on Amazon website and they will notify you about new books.

I always go to BarnesandNoble.com and select books, Coming Soon, and then go to format and select hardback and change from 20 per page to 40 per page.  This gives you 50 pages of new books coming out.  You can browse thru them and see if your favorites have books coming out and see others you might be interested in.  

I have many authors I read and I can find anything new they have coming within the next 6 months or so and also I have found many new authors i am interested in.

I no longer purchase books as I have purged and downsized but I do make my list and reserve them at the library.

Amazon Kindle books has the same Coming Soon feature as well as title released in the last 30 and 60 days.  Very helpful!

@Janey2 I have 600 books on my Kindle PaperWhite. When I find an author I like I click on "Follow Author" just as you said and I get email notifications of their new books.

Amazon puts out pre release of authors.

Go either to the author's website or the publisher's website.  You can sign up to be notified when new books come out.

Do you frequent a local bookstore? I signed up with my neighbor store to be informed of weekly new releases and events.

Our local bookstore went out of business a few years back.  I'm signed up with several authors, seems I never get a thing.  I have gotten into the habit of buying books used from Ebay or new from Amazon.  Our library was completely shut down during pandemic and getting a book from them was more trouble than it was worth.  I have a friend who is a prodigious reader (about a book a day) and she puts in blanket orders for 12 mysteries or whatever.  I don't need a bunch, I just want specific books.

On the ebook site I use, when I check the mystery and suspense line, I get "coming soon".   If I want the book, I then get a notice of how many months until it comes out.  I can then put a Hold on the new book.
