I don't know how I ever lived without mine.  I always have at least two or three waiting to be read and I can download a new one in seconds.  I can make the font as large as necessary and read in the dark while DH sleeps. If I forget to take it with me, I can open the book on my iPad, phone or laptop. The best thing is when I'm done, I don't have to figure out what to do with the book.

Yes!

I'm spoiled!

❤️❤️❤️ my Kindle.

I love books,I love to feel them ,smell them ,hold them, but since my arthritis has acted up I got the Paperwhite and it is my new love. Nice and light and when hubby goes to bed I can still read curled up and comfy with my Paperwhite! It is the best thing I have ever bought! I swear if it broke tomorrow I would be ordering a new one the same day!

I love the notes feature - especially for book discussions.  I can copy text, make notes, etc. and then send it to Word and print it out.

@Sweetbay magnolia   I'm the same way.  I like the old fashioned hardcover book.  I like to see all my books on the shelves.  I get my books on Amazon.  Don't like going to the library.

I, too, prop the book on a little 15 x 8 pillow and it works just great.   And I have the cutest bookmark.  No dogearring the pages.  Smiley Happy

no, i never use a kindle or tablet or laptop to read books.

i never felt comfortable doing it when the craze first began.

there is just something "special" to me about reading a book and holding it in your hands, especially hard cover books.

@sunshine45   I sooo agree w/you!

Yes, indeed, @Patriot3 !  The pillow, the book, and the book mark.  I have a book mark from when I worked in a gift shop in high school (many moons ago).

I still prefer reading actual books & magazines. It’s just more comforting an experience for me.My 27 year old son prefers reading this way too. He’s in law school & pays extra for his textbooks. He could get the online version for half the price but says he likes having the actual book in his hands.

When my niece who is 25 was in college she would purchase some of her text books to read online as well. I just can't grasp how you can have a book that you need to study from and not have the actual text book. Of course this was the child that while in high school, would read a book on her phone. I told her she would regret this when she got older and was blind. LOL

DH and I LOVE our Kindles because you can read in bed (without turning on the light) and during a storm when the power goes out we read with ease.

Re: Has KINDLE Spoiled you?

I completely prefer my Kindle because of the font issue (bad eyes) and the convenience.  Sometimes I will read a book that's large print and then I realize how heavy they are.

I am puzzled by the number of posters who have trouble remembering the title or author of the book.  When I "close" the book I'm reading on my Kindle, the display goes back to the cover of that book, showing the title, the author, and the cover art.

On the Kindle Fire, the title of the book always shows at the top of the page and the cover art is in color.  I don't mind reading on my Kindle Fire (it doesn't bother my eyes as some people say).  But my Kindle Voyage is lighter.

I do not know if it's how my brain process information or what. However,  if someone asked me right now what book I was currently reading I could say "The Dragon Factory" by Jonathan Maberry. If I was reading on my Kindle, the name and author for some reason does no readily come to me.

I have a Kindle, but I do not use it that often. I still prefer an actual book. I will be going on vacation in March, and I have not decided if I will take an actual book or the Kindle. More than likely, I will take my actual book.

I hate having to remember to charge the kindle. I can easily zone out while reading for an hour or two  I find the Kindle uncomfortable after awhile to hold while trying to read. I just can't get comfortable with it.

I forgot to add that I get 99% of my books from the Library so I am not paying for the books. I only purchase a book to add to my home Library if I really loved it, or if the Library does not have it.

Although I own a Nook, I love real books. I enjoy seeing the bookmark move along as I progress.
