My 2015 Goodreads challenge was 25 books, I read 54.  My 2016 will be 40.

How about you?

I do not set a numeric goal:  I have to be in the mood to read a book.  Normally, I can finish a book in a few days.  Recently, I was reading an author that is usually great; however, this book took me over a month to finish (only 800 pages, it felt like 8000 with virtually nothing happening most of the time).  I persisted because his plots are usually well-constructed and end with a twist.  Never again....

Enjoy your literary journey!

@kitty45

I don't set a limit either.  I can only have 6 books checked out at a time from my library's digital consortium. I usually read at the gym (treadmill, bike, or elliptical) and at night before bed.  I set my preferences for 3 weeks, and I rarely have to renew books.  In the summer, if I have nothing else to do, I can easily finish a book in a day.

I didn't set a limit this year, the first year I did as I was curious to see how many books I read a year.

Now I use GR to keep track of books I want to read when I see a book at the store (costco) or on line or in a magazine etc.

I challenge myself to read one book a week and just barely squeaked by the finish line (I read a few romance novels to hit the goal--is that cheating?!)

This year, I'm aiming for 60.

I'm not setting a number because I don't want to feel the pressure .I hate to lose any personal challenge,LOL. Instead I am trying to watch less tv and read more.  My kindle is bursting with options but my tv is a temptress.

No number here.  Just a promise to myself to spend more time on books about issues I care about instead of so many of the mysteries which are my go-to when I can't satnd the news any longer.

With what I expect the 2016 news to focus on, I expect to read a minimum of an extra book each week!

I don't set a goal.  I read what I like when I like.  This is the first year I've been on Goodreads.  It's nice to keep track of the books I've read (the titles) but I was surprised when they recently sent me a note telling me the number of books I read (it wasn't accurate anyway since I started midyear).  I don't really care how many books I read in any given time.

Re: Goodreads challenge

My Goodreads goal was 100, but I read 216!  I have set the same goal for 2016, because I mostly just use it as a record keeper, knowing that I will reach my goal.  It's fun to see how much I have read in the year. I especially enjoyed the Year in Books compilation.
