Good morning to my fellow reading addicts. Just wondered if you enjoy traditional beach reading this time of year, or if it doesn't factor into your reading choices at all. 

I find myself picking up more books with beach themes on the cover than before. Right now, I'm finishing, "The Summerhouse" by Jude Deveraux (an author that I've never read before), and have a couple of Susan Wiggs' books on deck (Summer at Willow Lake and Summer by the Sea). Of course, I have 7 books on my library hold list that should be arriving today, so I'm going to obviously make roon for them in my reading line-up. Just wondered if you gravitate towards lighter reading in summer.

I love "Summer Books" Elin Hiderbrand has a lot of beach themed books, it is always fun for me to sit pool side with one of here books. Last Summer a re-read Jody Blume's Forever, it is really for young readers but I enjoyed reading it as an adult.

No, summer has no impact on what I choose to read.  I generally read in the quiet early morning hours, but during the summer I am working gardens during those hours, so I actually read less.  This sumer I was going to read Debbie Macomber's Cedar Cove series , but after two I decided the books weren't working for me.  Instead I'm going for the finish line in Joan Hess's Claire Malloy mysteries which have been published so far.  I'm on 11.

I so enjoy all her books and follow her on Twitter.  She has been battling breast cancer for awhile now and I was tickled she tweeted out a photo on the beach July 4th sunning on the sand while writing her latest work.

I read beach reads all year just like holiday books all year too.  My calendar has no dates and my couch can carry me anywhere I wish to visit.

a good book is a good book any time of the year! yes, I like the beach themed books a lot, but I think I'm going to stay away from them for now. read too many recently! lol! I just finished the glass kitchen yesterday and it was a fun read if anyone's looking for a light read. 😊

Just finished Here's to Us by Elin Hilderbrand and I really enjoyed it like all of her others.  There's one that I really didn't enjoy and I think it was her 3rd book.  I read beach reads anytime of year too.

I love variety throughout the year, but I have to admit I've been on an Agatha Raisin kick the last few weeks. Should finish them all in a few days--highly enjoyable!

I will have to try her.  I do love Susan Wittig Albert's Darling Dahlias series and all of Laura Child's series.  On my way to the library in about five minutes to stock up for the weekend.  Happy reading all until next week!!

An author I like for these type of books is Nancy Thayer.  Right now I'm reading The Guest Cottage which takes place on Nantucket.

I read the same books regardless of the season. To me it makes no difference if it's hot or cold outside. I'm not exactly sure what a "beach read" is, but I am guessing it's a light, breezy book that's a quick read.

I read all types of books throughout the year. Reading is reading, and as long as the book is holding my interest, and calls to me when I put it down, that's the book I want to read.
