Did a book ever hit to close to home ?

I just had to stop reading a book that I really looked forward to. The description  said it was like  Steel Magnolias, and I know it was tragic , but this was too much like my mom's cancer journey. Maybe someday I'll go back to it, but I doubt it , it just hurts too bad.

@PinkyPetunia , Sorry, the name of the book is " Good Hair Days," by Grace Helena Waltz.

@QVCkitty1

I’m sorry!

Dont blame you one iota...

When I read for relaxation and recreation, I prefer just that and not a trip down

"depression-ville"!

Sorry this was disturbing. Books can indeed arouse memories.

Yes, I had to stop reading a book when it hit close to home.  Was on a cruise and reading a cruise related novel about a cruise ship disaster.
