You can Granny ~ go to your local library and borrow an audiobook!

Audiobooks make multi-tasking a wonderful way to enjoy and accomplish at the same time.

I finished the last book in Debbie Macomber's, Rose Harbor series.  I thoroughly enjoyed this series.  Smiley Happy

Love the audio book idea for when I cross stitch.   Why didn't I think of that? *face palm*

Thanks for the suggestion. Smiley Happy

It is a put-down.  It means her books are not high brow literary writing.  The dictionary says pedestrian means,  "not interesting or unusual."

Since when does a book need to be "high brow literary writing"to be enjoyable?

Debbie Macomber lives an works in our town. I used to see her frequently at a restaurant she recently sold. I have some of her books that my dh got me that she autographed. It's interesting to read about things so familiar because she writes about stuff where we live.

People read and enjoy books for many different reasons.  Some want information and instruction; some an exciting plot; some want something exciting; some read for philosophy and inspiration; and some read for the beauty of the language.

We are lucky that there are lots of books for lots of readers, including some who read for the literary value.  Nothing wrong with any of the reasons!
