I read a lot of Danielle Steel. For those of you that read Danielle Steel - In quite a few of her books, she has a lot of semi-incestous relationships going on. They're not completely incestous since they're not related by blood, but they're in the same family, or have relatives in common.
For example, in the book "Hotel Verdone", the main character is dating her stepmother's nephew. Her dad and stepmother have kids, so they would be her half-siblings. So her half siblings are also her boyfriend's cousins!! (ugh!)
A few other books, she had middle-age couples who have kids from their other marriages and their kids are dating each other. In one book, there's a young couple and the husband's father is dating the wife's mother. Really? Just stop with that!

Her books are just fluff and not meant to be analyzed. Just an easy "beach" read.

@kelshar why would you continue to read books from this author if you find her storlines uncomfortable?

Personally, I never bought the books because I didn't care for the tv movies.

I just read Country and enjoyed it. I hadn't read one of her books in a long time.

What I cannot stand the most about her writing is the constant writing of how the main characters still "look good" regardless to how old they are. Some books she writes that phrase about the same character repeatedly, not just once. I am sure they do but who is she refering to her book or herself?
I tell myself I will no longer her read her new releases but then it comes out and back to the 1980's I go. Except I no longer purchase I check them out. Then she writes a really good book, like Blue and reminds me why I stayed with her for so long.

Read all of hers. Finished The Apartment and it was good. My favorite is James Patterson.

Her earlier books are much better than hew newer ones to me. I like to read her books when I don't have to think too much. Her books are easy reads and you can usually get into them fairly easily......
