My latest book is Disappearing Act by LT Ryan. This is the newest in the Maddie Castle series. The mystery involves three missing children, but the secrets of the cul-de-sac where the families live come to the forefront in solving the disappearance. I am tired of plots involving missing/kidnapped children, but this one was enough different that I do recommend it. It's a good series.
Merry Christmas to all my fellow readers!

I meant to post this yesterday but QVC and QVC forums keeps giving me a error. Anyone else?
I finished Allison Larkin's Home To An American Circus. It was pretty good once I got past 100 pages where it was slow for me at least.

I'm reading 'All the Colors of the Dark" by Chris Whitaker. I liked his other books, and this one is highly praised on Goodreads and other sites. I don't understand the high ratings, as "All the Colors of the Dark" is disappointing so far.
The story takes place in 1975. Girls are disappearing in the small town of Monte Clare Missouri, and a teenage boy Patch becomes a hero when he saves a young girl. The book is called a romance (between Patch and a girl Saint) , a thriller and a historical saga. There are too many characters and too much happening all at once. Someone named Grace appears from nowhere, no idea who she is and no explanation why she is there. Is she even real or a figment of Patch's imagination?
The book seems a jumbled mess to me and has scenes that make no sense. This might be DNF as I'm having trouble staying interested. That's too bad as Whitaker wrote some very good novels, this just doesn't seem to be one of them.

I read an older book, The First Gentleman. Bill.Clinton and James Patterson. Really enjoyed it!
Next was The Honeymoon by Shalini Boland. Was very surprised at the ending.

Oh, I hate when that happens. And it happens a lot to me. And too many characters makes me crazy. Guess I'm just picky.

I gave up on "All the Colors of the Dark." after 100 pages. Just couldn't get interested in the plot or characters. Someone was waiting in line for it, so maybe they'll like the book better than I did.
Next is "The Bourne Escape." by Brian Freeman. The orginal author of the series, Rober Ludlum, has passed and other authors have taken over the Bourne series. I've read most of the books and the authors so far are doing a good job keeping up with Ludlum's characters.

Just finished a sort of ok cozy mystery. The Gun Also Rises (a take on The Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway) by Sherry Harris.

Well, I recently read my very first Dr. Seuss book ... and I would recommend The Cat In The Hat ... without reservation.
I've had some books on order and saw that my turn was very low in the queue. For one book, I'm #167, and for another, I'm #132.
So, I often have a lot on order ... and FOUR suddenly came in all at once!
With the holiday activity, I'm not getting anything read.
It's a lot of pressure, lol. ![]()

My library offers the opportunity to postpone a book for maybe three times, @Tinkrbl44.

Today I finished Stuart Woods' Blown Away by Brett Battles. This is the new book in the Teddy Fay series. I loved it! It had lots of action, smart characters, and an interesting setting (Palm Springs) It was heavy on dialogue, which I like. There were no gratuitous s*x scenes like in the Stone Barrington series books. Stone had a cameo apprearance, but he was not a major part of the story. This is a very good series and I recommend it highly.
