Has anyone read this book? I think it is the biggest book I have ever seen!

I am reading it now and am really enjoying it.  I find a long book is not a problem if it good. I say go for it.

Thanks for letting me know. I agree, a good book is never too long.

I plan to read it because I LOVED his other book called Cutting for Stone.

I'm reading it now. I'm taking it slow and learning a lot.

It's nice to have a book last me a week. I'm enjoying something more literary for a change.  Lately it seems I read one mystery or psychological thriller after another every 2 days.

Beautiful change of pace.

The former and current and still "MrsSweetieBear".

Magnificent book, magnificent author.  I have about 100 pages left and don't want it to end. I laughed, I cried. Will be reading his Covenent of Stone next, which is his previous book. I can't remember who recommended these 2 books to me, but "thank you, thank you.

It was our Book Club selection a couple of months ago, so I read it.  I learned things about India, the Colonial Period, Communism in India-I enjoy learning as I read.  The story was a family saga.  Honestly, I thought the story dragged.  I felt the book was too long-over 700 pages, but I made myself finish it.  I did not read Cutting for Stone by the same author; everyone raved about that novel.  The book club members gave it a good, but not great rating.

Cutting for Stone was one of my all time favorite books.  Just a wonderful story,  I have The Covenant of Water but have not started it yet.
