Picked up Volume 1 (Volume 2 out next year 2026).  I am about halfway thru.  She has met Sonny and is beginning her ascent into becoming famous as Sonny and Cher.

I am really enjoying this book.  What a life!  Her mother, albeit gorgeous and talented as well, struggled to provide any kind of stability for Cher and her little sister.  I didn't realize she moved around so much as a kid, times were tough, times were sometimes great, but what a struggle.

I am at the part where she has met Sonny and is getting into background singing for Phil (Phillip) Spector - working with Darlene Love, the Wrecking Crew, meeting Brian Wilson, etc...

I love to read biographies and this is an autobiography. I highly recommend even if you're not a Cher fan.  It's so far a great life story.

I can't wait to read this book.  By the way, part 2 is coming out in November 2025.

This is why I hate the move ET. I will never watch it, again.

That Mom went to school to get Elliott & left a kindergartener home alone!!

I was so looking forward to reading/hearing her book but it made me so sad.

Really?  You realize that was just for the plot of the movie?  That is why you hate ET?  Smiley Sad  @Dusty1

I have the book but have yet to read it, am debating whether to start now or wait until the second one is out. I was (and still am) a Cher fan. If I remember correctly she had a fairly difficult childhood which is why she ended up in such a relationship with Sonny-I believe he took her under his wing...I saw her on the first Where the Action is that they were on...about a million years ago! LOL!!!

ETA-that episode aired in 1966!!!! I was 13!

That and Hullaballoo were my favorites as a young woman.  I was about 10 years old.  Paul Revere and the Raiders were a favorite band to see on those shows. Woman Tongue

I am not a Cher fan, so for me to be enjoying this book as much as I am, surprises even me.  Cher's story is quite detailed.

@SWEET  Unfortunately now they're not releasing Vol. 2 until May 2026...to tie in with her 80th birthday (and I suspect she didn't finish writing it in time!).

Loved the first volume!

I just Googled and the only place I saw that pub date was Amazon.  All of the other references still said November.  I couldn't figure out how she could write part 2 that fast anyway or try to anyway.
