@Lilysmom1

The older we become, the more fortunate we understand we are/were growing up in homes with books! We're forever grateful to our parents for providing us with such a loving environment full of books and a large yard to learn about all kinds of plants, shrubs, trees, critters, and a lovely green lawn (which our classmates did play all kinds of sports on throughout our childhood and teen years)!

I did enjoy the Forum's book club a few years ago, but have devoted my time and energy to a larger on-line book club in recent years. The thorough reviews are more enjoyable and I'm able to sort book titles, authors, and friends much easier for efficient time-saving reasons. I also like the up-to-date suggestions of new books as they are available for purchase.

I am uncomfortable in a home without books.

Reading books (all kinds!) is a lot like traveling...you learn so much about people, places, customs, food etc...and it allows your mind to wander and to actually THINK.  I have always been a reader and cannot imagine life without books!

One of my favorite childhood memories was my dad taking us to the library most Friday nights.  One of these days I'm going back to that small library.  We couldn't wait to go get a stack of books.  Now I can't wait to check it out.

My local community library is huge, and it's always packed.  Best library in surrounding communities.
