Re: Bill O'Reilly

[ Edited ]

Bill O'Reilly has written many good books and he gives us a solid view of history.

I highly recommend.

My mom watched him and followed him for years. Now I watch the No Spin News because he really tells it like it is with no bias. He has many years as a journalist and knows the who the when and the where.  I think we ALL need the news with NO BIAS.

As for his personal life, I know he is Catholic and a devout Christian.  He has never made he faith about what he does as a journalist and vice versa.  It's just part of himself

and spirituality.

Lets stop condemning a law suit that was also part of a defamation case.  You can love him or hate him or simply not follow him but what lies behind is behind.  Read his recent book which IS NOT pointing fingers.  It's factual and spot on what  evil  lurks around us.

I always find it interesting how people will condemn the messanger but not the problem.  Bill O'Reilly isn't the evil...the EVIL surrounds us an all four sides and IF you can't see that then you are virtually blind.

IMO~

@Tinkrbl44Yes I do know about the payment ,  I choose to believe that he paid bit to just be done with it .   Yes it's a lot of money , more then I'll ever see ,  but for someone who has that kind of money it isn't .  It would have been a long stretched out court case and some choose to avoid it's just easier.   I mean that's just one senerio,  not saying it's exactly what it is, I just don't feel Bill O'Reilly is a sex offender , doesn't fit who I feel he is.  No head in the sand. It's my opinon is all .

@Kitty Galore

You have an idea of who you'd like to believe who he is, but no one pays out THIRTY TWO MILLION DOLLARS if they have done nothing wrong.

There were SEVERAL accusers going back to 2004, and he paid for their silence.

Bill O'Reilly not only paid out to settle these lawsuits, but HE WAS FIRED.  Use the common sense you were born with, please.

Of course, he is a sex offender.

Google is your friend.

@Tinkrbl44  with respect and I do feel you are sincere in what your writing and what your opinion is on all this .   I don't find google to always be accurate .   I like everyone else google everything !   There are times with medical issues for instance that turn out to not be as accurate as we think.  Have to take anything we read with a grain of salt .

I do beileve the powers to be had no choice but to fire Bill with all the controversy.  True or not they wanted the talk to stop .  Women aren't always telling the truth just because they are women.   I don't know exactly what went on between them ,  only they know the real truth . If he is quilty God knowsand he  will have to answer for it one day .

I can see you are determined to refuse to accept facts.  You just don't want to consider that men can seem one way in public and be very different behind closed doors.

Have you ever met the man?

Sometimes people just don't want to believe they were wrong ... or somehow tricked.

Many years ago, my sisters and I got into "spirited conversations" repeatedly with my mother about O.J. Simpson.   She refused to even consider he could have been guilty.

Reason?  Because he was SUCH a good football player and made the fans SO happy ... how could someone like that ever hurt anyone?

Seriously.   A real head-scratcher, but it made perfect sense to her at that time.

A  Sex Offender" definition is someone who is CONVICTED of a crime, not someone who pays out settlements in a civil legal case.

@beckyb1012

You are correct.  Based on the number of women who came forward, a better description would have been sexual predator.

Like the Cosby situation, many of those women didn't know each other, but the patterns and even what he would repeatedly say was similar.

The network could have put him on vacation or some special project, but the information was just too damning to keep him.

i was very excited about the new network that O'reilly is on until recently.

CC lets him rant and spew lies, so i have lost respect for him, CC as as moderator.  i love hearing both sides if based on facts!!  not opinions or bias.

i was never a fan of him, so no i don't read his books.

he has a background in journalism, but he is not a REAL journalist.

he is a political commentator & pundit.  which in and of itself is bias.

he might write books about history etc.. but he is certainly not a journalist.

neither is:

anyone on msnbc

anyone on cnn

anyone on fox

anyone on newmax

anyone on oan

anyone on news nation

just so u know i am not singling him out....

they might bring journalists on a as guests, but as for as all the 'moderators, journalist they are not.  they are talking heads/pundits/political commentators.

if you are a real, true journalist, you surely do not have to time to be on TV 5 days a week!!!

Elizabeth Vargas, Steve Doocy, Connie Chung, Kaitlan Collins all have degrees in journalism and many more in political science. There is an article in US News that tells where 26 journalists, pundits whatever you want to call them went to school and what degrees they have.

no problem with having a degree in journalism, good for them.  but just having a degree in journalism does not automatically make them a journalist by trade.

2 separate entities:  1.  a journalist

                                 2.  a pundit/political commentator

You used the titles of what they are so my point is there are people on air who were educated and have degrees in journalism.
