Today I will be...Intentional

Today I will be intentional.

Try thinking through your health and wellness a little more this week.  Be intentional in how you sleep, eat and move.  Those three categories (in order of importance) are what make up your total balance, in my opinion.

Sleep- Decide when you will go to sleep and wake up and stick to it.  Don't let life get in the way.  Plan some margin in there so it’s not a struggle against the clock.

Eat - Meal plan this week. Pack your lunch or your car snacks (my favorite!) Decide which night you will eat out and what day you let yourself "cheat" a bit.  Get that water bottle and commit to filling it up more today.  Don't just let the munchies or the afternoon snack attack get you. Intend to eat at certain times of the day, and figure out ahead of time what it will be.

Move - My favorite of the three. Make small goals. Decide you will take a few more steps or buy a pair of tennis shoes or stretch when you first get up.  Don't say "oh I’ll work out this week," without planning where and when that will happen.

Being intentional isn't just about your body…it’s a mind and soul thing too.  Think before you speak or write.  Your time is too precious to waste on moments that don't make you happy or lift others up, so be intentional with every single minute you are blessed with this week.  And that means planning for the downtime too. You deserve a break, make sure you intend to give yourself one.

Have a great week my friends and God Bless!

I will try to ignore this new show, it has not even started and I'm sick of it already.

What is your background in wellness, fitness, and nutrition?

You are 100% right, you need to have the right foods around you so you don't eat the BAD STUFF.. things I have that have worked are raspberries and blackberries as well as the air popped popcorn (1 cup = 35 calories) ...most importantly, it's a mental decision ..think of that black dress you want and the size you want in it and go for it.

I wil be quieter.  I will listen more to myself ( the inner, calmer, wiser, kinder me) and let that ME govern today and be present more this week.

You are so right about the need to make plans for reaching your goals. Setting goals is the easy part. If you make a plan on how to reach the goal it is so much easier to obtain.  I do choose to read all of your post, because I enjoy your passion for your family, decorating your home and fitness.  I however do not share your passion for exercise, but I do not mind reading about it, LOL.

I will ask you to ignore the negative comments.  It doesn't take a medical professional,  nutritionist,  personal trainer or a rocket scientist to let us know that we all need to eat better, live better, and especially to  get up and move! Thank you for your encouragment and positivity and yes! your blessing.

1.  Kerstin is an adult and surely has thick enough skin to over look what might be construed as negative comments. I don't see any.

2.  You're exactly right, you do not need to be any of those occupations you listed. However, if you're on TV addressing millions of viewers, I'd hope someone somewhere has done research to back up any ideas.

3.  If you notice, the supplements and bars offered have terrible reviews so why offer something like that in a show that's promoting healthy eating. She talks about clean eating a lot. I agree with her. Trying to see the "clean" of those products.

To dukebluenan, you would probably feel different if the negative comments were directed at you.  But with that said, I am a health care professional and I've found that some people will take advice from friends or tv personalities quicker than they will from their physicians. And I said SOME, not all.

Thanks again Kerstin Smiley Happy
