Today I Will....Just Breathe

It seems like such an easy task.  Just breathe.  But boy, I bet if you really focus on it for a day you will find you are holding your breath through this crazy life more than you think.

A breath is such a huge part of every physical fitness you do.  Some activities like yoga and Pilates and swimming are more about the breathing than even how you move the rest of your body.  The other components of wellness are also so connected to inhale and exhale.  Sleep begins with a breath.  Even eating right means slowing down and breathing in between bites.


But most of all, for me, this one hits me in the day to day when I'm doing nothing more than just living.  I have this one on my wall at home and at work. It reminds me to slow down and be present. I need to stop getting wrapped up on what's to come and feel what is happening in, right now in this moment.  




My life moves a million miles a minute. I have so much going on and each second counts.  That’s the thing.  Each. Second. Counts.  I need to remember to take a deep breath and look around and remember how blessed I am to be right here right now.  Even if that's driving home at 2am after work and walking into a messy house and a crying baby. That's even more when I need to stop and take a deep breath.

There are a million reasons to stop and breathe.  And if you are trying to live a better you this year I encourage you to spend this next episode of Get Fit With Kerstin focusing on your breath. Put a hand on your heart and one on your stomach and feel the transfer of breath.  Visualize where the oxygen is going.  Be present in what everything feels like.

I LOVE your new show.  I have set my DVR, so that  I don't miss it.  Your excitement and enthasium are contagious.  This week I am focusing on breathing, and it has made a big difference!  I keep you and your family in my prayers.

Great reminder !   I am an avid walker and in the total silence of my morning walk I breathe in and out as deeply as I can.


I would love this excellent reminder on a big coffee mug !  hint hint hinty hint
