Yesterday at QVC, I was able to grab some coffee and chat with a new member to the Q beauty family and celebrity manicurist, Mar y Soul! Mar y Soul will be joining me at midnight tonight to officially launch a new nail polish brand to QVC, Formula X. 

I was able get the 411 and beauty breakdown about Formula X and even score some expert mani tips from Mar y Soul. Here's what she had to say --

After learning a little bit more about the brand, I asked the quesiton of the hour... So how does Formula X gives us the long lasting manicure we are looking for?? Mar Y Soul says it is all found in the 4pc. system by Formula X. She uses this system behind the scenes when getting celebrities ready for big events and even just day to day life! 

Here is how the system works, alongside some of Mar y Soul's tips & tricks!

Step 1 - - Apply Formula X's nail cleanser CLEANSE to each nail. Cleanse is an essential salon secret, its infused with witch hazel, vitamin E, cucumber extract, and other ingredients to help gently rid nails of oil and residue and optimize base-coat adherence.  This step is really important and takes no time thanks to Formula X’s specially designed brush.

Step 2 - - Apply PRIME our beautiful basecoat. I love Prime, notice it has a pink tint to it! It’s a multitasking basecoat that works to help prevent staining and acts as an adhesive layer, allowing color to take hold for a longer lasting mani. 

Step 3 - - Apply your nail color, I chose Formula X's Blushing. *Here's a tip for painting your own nails- leave your thumbs for the end, this allows you to move freely without worrying and also allows you to use your thumbs as a little helper. *Another tip I have for you is before you is before you begin to paint your nails make sure there is not a lot of polish on the brush. Our custom brush makes it easy for you to paint your nails and our amazing formulations will go on smoothly with full coverage ( you can show a photo of the demo comparison to a leading nail salon brand) 

Step 4 - -Apply SHINE and see how amazing your DIY manicure came out. We are known for high shine! In my opinion your nails wil look like super shiney jelly beans

How beautiful is her manicure! My favorite part about this system is that yes, Mar Y Soul is an expert/professional, but even if she wasn't, this polish is so easy to apply. It goes on beautifully and you'll find great coverage in just one coat! Because we are busy women and constantly on the go, there are plenty of times we'll make a mess of our manicure -- So I asked Mar Y Soul her quickest tip for fixing a mess up! Here's what she said: 

"When your polish is still wet quickly dab your brush into the polish bottle and swipe over your mess up, if you can try moving the brush from your cuticle to the tip (free edge) depending on the area. Let it dry and when applying SHINE our top coat,  you will not be able to see your nail boo boo!! Also, if its too late and your nail is dry, don't fuss with it. Remove and start over, it's not only great practice but you will be so much happier when you see your perfectly polished fingers and toes."
