I always love Super Saturday and giving to such a worthy cause. Here is a recap of last year! This year we are headed to California! Shop our preview ---> here and come back for more updates. Super Saturday LIVE is Saturday June 11th from 4-6PM EST!
I’m still on a bit of a high from last Saturday! Our QVC Presents Super Saturday Live ended up raising a lot of money for the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. Of course, none of this would be possible without you, our QVC customers! Thanks to your support, we have generated more than $9 million for the Ovarian Cancer Research Fun (OCRF) since 2007! I also want to send out a giant thank you to all of the wonderful brands that donate the products sold during the show and on QVC.com. I know things sold out quickly, but you would be amazed at how much product is donated. It really is testament to all of our customers who love shopping for a cause!
I know so many of you joined us for the live broadcast and followed along via the many social media outlets (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and one I just learned about this weekend Snapchat!), but I thought I would share a little behind-the-scenes photo diary from the weekend.
Most of the QVC crew headed up to the Hamptons on Thursday to start building the set and getting ready for the show. I left with the rest of our team on Friday. It’s a long drive, about 4-5 hours, but I had plenty to keep me busy. I spent the time preparing my notes for the show. Here’s a look at me going through just some of the product information. Of course, most of the products sold out before I even had a chance to put all of my studying to use on-air! I have never been so happy to be over prepared!
After work, comes play! Courtney Cason was already in Southampton, so we met to walk around, window shop, and grab a much-needed coffee!
As we were walking down the street, I saw a familiar face coming towards us. It was Dennis Basso running errands! He gave us all of the inside scoop on celebrity-packed events he was attending that weekend. Dennis always has good stories. I would share, but I’m sworn to secrecy! Haha!
Later that night, a group of us met up with our friend Leigh from tarte and her new husband, Bryan, for dinner at 75 Main in Southampton. Leigh and I have been friends outside of QVC for years, so it is always great to catch up. She and Bryan are so nice and they make a GORGEOUS couple! You may not recognize everyone in the photo, so from left to right is my good friend Meghan who is part of our social team at QVC, the lovely and talented stylist, Russell, me, Courtney, Leigh, Leigh's husband Bryan, and Katie who also works for our social media team.
Once Saturday morning rolled around, we were up and at 'em early to start the day! Courtney and I spent most of the morning in hair & make up and then we were off the fairgrounds to start work. Courtney went to look for people to interview and I started meeting with guests for the show.
Tim, our on-site photographer from QVC, took these shots. As you can see, the weather was perfect! Low humidity and blue skies!
Teal is OCRF’s signature color. You see a lot of teal at Super Saturday! People lined up at the QVC lounge to get into our photo booth, complete with teal props. They could pose, print, and display their photos on the #KeepinItTeal banner outside of the lounge! Pretty cool, right?
Courtney & I jumped in the photo booth for some fun! Here is our photo:
Then, it was Red Carpet time! Our friend Joe Zee interviewed celebrities on the Red Carpet and gave us updates during the show.
I would love to know what Jill Martin said that has Joe Zee laughing so hard!
Of course our friend and Super Saturday co-host, Kelly Ripa!
Here’s Joe Zee interviewing former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani and his wife, Judith.
Look who else stopped by the Red Carpet -- Alec Baldwin!
Meanwhile back in the QVC lounge, it was almost show time. I used the tarte self tanner and then Russell brought out the Laura Geller Baked Body Frosting to get me camera-ready! It really takes a village! Haha!
And then it was show time!
For the last three years, Dr. Dennis Gross and his wonderful wife, Carrie, have thrown a party after Super Saturday. This year, Carrie, went with a tiki theme and turned her already beautiful backyard into an island paradise. Carrie really knows how to throw the perfect party. Everyone is always so relaxed and happy at her events.
After we finished eating, Carrie had a surprise: fire dancers! Then, it was our turn to dance!
I only have one photo from the dance party and it is extra blurry because Laura and I could not stop dancing even to take a picture! Too bad I don’t have a picture of Dr. Gross dancing, He’s got some moves!!
After the party, I headed home feeling tired, but very happy. Thank you again to the entire QVC crew and vendors that helped make this show possible and to you, our customers, for making it a success. Looking forward to yet another successful Super Saturday next year!!
