Sliced Citrus Sangria

I had a party a couple of weeks ago, and I served a refreshing Sangria. I made both a red and white version. I promised to share the recipe, so here it is. It calls for sliced citrus which was a perfect opportunity to try the Cooks Essentials Electric Mandoline Slicer.

I sliced the oranges by hand, and then used the electric mandoline to slice the lemons and limes. Not only was the mandoline faster, the slices were more uniform. You can see the TSV here. I hope you enjoy the sangria as much as my friends did!

Ingredients:

1/2 cup brandy

1/4 cup lemon juice

1/3 cup frozen lemonade concentrate

1/3 cup orange juice

1 bottle of dry red wine (I like Red Zinfandel)  or white wine (I like Pinot Grigio)

1/2 cup Cointreau orange liqueur

1 lemon sliced into rounds

1 lime sliced into rounds

1 orange sliced into rounds

1/4 cup white sugar

2 cups ginger ale

Prep:

In a 2 quart pitcher mix the brandy, lemon juice, lemonade concentrate, orange juice, wine, Cointreau, and sugar. Add sliced fruit and let it float in the mixture. Refrigerate overnight. Before serving, add 2 cups of ginger ale, stir and the sangria is ready to enjoy!

I made a pitcher of red and a pitcher of white sangria.

The final step is to float the fruit in the pitcher and let the wine soak up the citrus flavor overnight.
