NEW DRESS - NEW YOU?

Why would a young man live in a wasteland when the castle of his dreams is standing by?

And why would a princess put on an old dress to dance with her beloved and the chance to catch his eye?” ~Nicole Nordeman

Hello my fellow FASHIONISTAS!

I took my son, Aaron, shopping recently to get a few clothes that he'll be needing as he heads off to college this summer. He leaves the middle of August for a two-week orientation, then begins school in Boston. Somehow we got discussing the movie Bridges of Madison County. Remember that one? I love that movie! As we drove along, I described the context and the conflict of the story for Aaron, and I was struck again by the scene where the main lady, Meryl Streep's character, Francesca, who's heart is now all a flutter over this new interest (not her husband), hair now seen down - relaxed and fully feminine, now heads into town to do what seems a departure for her: she enters what's probably the only clothing store in town, and feeling alive and beautiful, buys a new dress. Not a big moment in the story, but it causes me to pause.

I want to live life to the fullest. I want you to, as well. I don't want to wait. I'm not talking about doing something crazy or something that will give you financial strain, and I'm certainly not subscribing to Francesca's method of revitalization (apart from the new dress), but...

Rise and shine, ladies!!!! Rise and shine!!! You really were created to beautiful. Tall and willowy; short and sassy; full and bodacious; majestic; curvy; boney....you name it. You were created to be lovely. Be lovely.
