If you ask me what my favorite purchases ever from QVC have been, the Vitamix would be at the top of my list. We use it multiple times a day in our house. I've never used a single small appliance more! I've come up with some yummy super-healthy smoothie recipes over the years and my kids really like them, especially as after school snacks.
But, when they want something sweeter, like a real dessert, those smoothies don't always cut it. This "milkshake" is not low calorie, but it is packed with a lot of nutrients growing bodies need... And you know what's in it, unlike prepackaged junk food. It's also really good for adults too!
Serves 1
1 frozen banana
1/4 c raw cashews
1 cup almond milk
A squirt or two of chocolate syrup
Blend on high and that's it!
Add more cashews and/or bananas to make it thicker. You don't taste the nuts and they give this a nice, creamy texture. You can also add a few ice cubes. A Vitamix works great for this. Tip: when your bananas start to get to ripe, don't throw them away, put them in the freezer. I usually have a Lock & Lock full of them, ready to go.
