Hello, foodies...

Our next guest blogger is the founder of Lady and the Blog (LATB), Vera Sweeney! LATB is all about food, fashion, and family! Vera and her husband have three beautiful children and live in Long Island! Vera is going to share some recipes for a few kid-friendly snacks to help keep all of those tummies from rumbling this summer. Enjoy!

Summer is here which means big, heavy meals are a thing of the past. For the next two months, my family usually spends our time on the go and snacking in between outdoor activities. 

I have to be ready for it all ... and my children have to like what I give to them. After three kids, I pretty much have making kid-friendly snacks down to a science. I want to keep it healthy, but I also want to make sure it’s fun. 

Here are my top 5 kid-friendly snacks that I am sure your little ones will enjoy.

Greek Veggie Kebobs: Cucumbers, Tomatoes, Feta Cheese and Kalamata Olives (note: if your children aren’t fond of feta cheese and Kalamata - feel free to swap with something a bit more basic like mozzarella and black olives.)

Peanut Butter and Apples: Pre-slice apples and fill a small tupperware container with peanut butter. For some additional fun, mix in some golden raisins. 

Ants on a Log: I have to be honest with you. This is the only way I can get my children to eat celery! Cut up celery and fill it with peanut butter. Then have the children top the “log” with ants... I mean raisins. 

Crackers and Cheese: A handful of pita crackers and a mozzarella stick? You cannot go wrong with this combo in my household!  

Carrots and Hummus (or light ranch dressing): Grab about 20 baby carrots and add 2 tablespoons of either hummus or light ranch dressing.
