Hi kids!

So many of you are always asking about the colorful loafers I wear so often on the show, so I thought it would be fun to share a few photos from my closet and the dozens of pairs of Belgian loafers that I own and am obsessed with! I collect so many things - fashion and art books, fabrics, colored pencils in fabulous colors, hilarious tchotchkes, and costume jewelry – but my Belgian loafer collection is one of my all-time most favorite things and why you see me in them so often. Whenever I see a new pair, I just can’t help myself – I must have them.

All of the loafers in my collection come from a company called Belgian Shoes and I have most of them custom made so I can select the colors and materials. As you can see, my collection has gotten quite large… lots of different colors, patterns, and fabrics. From pink leather to green suede to a gorgeous tartan plaid, I always have the perfect pair for every occasion. They’re organized by color and I keep special shoetrees inside of them to help keep them looking good. Although I do love a good broken in pair, too.

I’ve been building my collection of Belgian loafers for years and was initially attracted to them not just for the style and color options but also because of how they’re made. Belgian loafers have been manufactured in the same unique way since the 1904’s – they’re sewn inside out and then the material is flipped. This intricate process makes sure that every single stitch in the shoe is perfect. Just the way I like them!

The best part about this collection is that they don’t just sit on a shelf – they are really my staple, my go-to shoe for all kinds of occasions.

Here I am wearing my olive green Belgians at the Season 4 finale of Project Runway: All-Stars.

I love these animal print ones so much. This is a photo of me and my husband from when my home was featured in Architectural Digest.

These bright indigo ones are so fun – especially when paired with a plaid suit! I wore this outfit when I appeared as a guest judge on one of my favorite shows, RuPaul’s Drag Race.
