“We’d love for you to come join us at QVC.”
Those words came to me via a phone call only a few months ago, and after a series of very fortunate events. Earlier this year I’d noticed a casting call for program hosts at QVC. At the urging of one of my best friends, I filmed an audition and crossed my fingers as I submitted it online.
A couple of weeks later I was on a plane bound for Pennsylvania and the final round of host auditions! I couldn’t believe I was there. Jen from Texas, a small business owner who recently discovered a passion for television. As I toured QVC and met the warm and friendly faces that I would soon come to know as my colleagues, I gave thanks. The eighteen hours I spent in West Chester during auditions ranked among my favorite life experiences. And everything I’d heard seemed true. These were the hardest working, yet most fun-loving people I’d ever met.
I flew back home and waited. And waited. And waited! I spent six weeks trying my utmost to bring my dream job to me by praying and visualizing.
And then the call came. No one here knows this (yet), but as that call came through I was holding hands with my biggest inspiration: my daughter Gabby. After I gleefully accepted my new job she and I cried tears of joy and prepared for our biggest adventure to date. I said farewell to my friends, filmed my last morning show in San Antonio, and packed our bags.
Since then it has been a whirlwind of excitement, hard work, and incredible experiences. I’ve been training under the guidance of Mary Beth Roe, and can confidently say I am in the best of hands! What a hard working, committed, passionate and compassionate person! She is everything you see on TV and more. And my Host Mentor is Antonella Nester, who is the firecracker that keeps my energy sky high and my spirits even higher. I love her to pieces!
This blog will be going up on the first day I go live on QVC. And as I’m standing next to my mentor Antonella and waiting for that “red light” to go on the camera I’ll be giving thanks again. To my daughter for constantly telling me to chase my dreams, to QVC for giving me this unbelievable opportunity, and most importantly, to you. For accepting me into the QVC family…and I’m seeing every day that it is just that: A very big, but very close-knit family.
Here are some photos of my first few weeks at the Q.

I am elated that I am able to share with you all of the adventures I’m having as I begin my journey at QVC!! I want to show you all of the excitement, preparation, hard work (and fun) that goes into putting on a 24/7/364 live broadcast, through the wide eyes of a gal who still can’t believe she’s here.
Oh, and I’d LOVE to have you join me on a daily basis on my QVC Facebook page and Twitter. Yes,I am a social media addict! And would love to chat with you.
So now I want to hear from you! What do YOU want to see from behind the scenes? What have you always wanted to know about what makes this crazy wonderful network tick? Tell me and I’ll be blogging like crazy to fill you in! Let’s go on this adventure together!
