Those of you who know me already know that fall is my favorite season. I love everything about it, the crisp air, foliage, fashion, sweaters, boots, bonfires, fire roasted green chile, football games and the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta. This year, my love affair with autumn was rekindled with a trip to upstate New York! Don’t worry, Bill was definitely a big part of this picture, we just returned from the most incredible trip together to the Adirondacks with our QVC crew/family. This is a place I have always wanted to visit, and one that many of our Sincerely Sisters suggested we feature in our Seasons Across America tour. Thank you, thank you! I loved every minute, and can’t wait to return some day.

This incredible corner of our country is not only breathtakingly beautiful, but the people we came to know while we were there were incredibly welcoming and obviously passionate about their active lifestyle. After all, with so much beauty at every turn, it is easy to understand why a perfect day in the Adirondacks would include soaking in the beauty and breathing in the clean air while hiking, canoeing, kayaking, skating or skiing. We took lots of photos and I’ve posted some of the best ones in an album on Facebook where I share some of the vibrant landscapes of the Empire State that are so inspiring to me.

While we were in the quaint village of Lake Placid, we were treated to a personal tour of the Olympic Training Center, as well as the multiple Olympic venues built for the 1932 and 1980 games. What a truly American experience! We stood in the center of the rink where the “Miracle on Ice” captured the nation in 1980, when the team of American amateurs upset the professional Russian team and went on to win gold! You can feel the energy and spirit when you are there. We watched the brave young trick ski jumpers practice by landing into a pool of unheated water in full ski gear, as they must do 100 times successfully before their coach will approve landing any new trick on the hard, icy landing in competition. We competed in a race of our own…..but you’ll have to tune in for that later.
Bill and I were so inspired by the natural beauty of this region, but also by the spirit of the people who call this isolated corner of our country home, many of them originally united through their passion for nordic sports over the decades. Their obvious joy, calm, and peace with where they live and how they live was inspiring.

I can’t wait to share our experiences with you in our upcoming Sincerely, Carolyn Pollack Seasons Across America: New York special event, beginning September 29th at 11:00p.m. ET, and continuing on September 30th at 9:00am, 5:00pm ET, and 9:00pm ET, and October 1st at 6:00pm ET, each time for two hours. I have designed half a dozen new collections that I hope you will agree honor this very special place in our world and this season so many of us love dressing for!!!
Sincerely,
P.S.
