Hello from Heidi, philosophy's Newest Guest....oh and a sweepstakes too!

Hi. I'm Heidi Guest and soon I will be joining the QVC family as one of philosophy's on-air guests. I have been a fan of philosophy for years and since March, I have been fortunate enough to work for the brand at our corporate offices in Phoenix. Though my relationship with QVC is relatively new, my experiences with the QVC family and its amazing community of philosophy girls has left a positive and lasting impression. My first visit to West Chester was last month when I participated in QVC's annual Beauty Bash. It was an experience that I will never forget.  If you have never attended, I encourage you to do so. If you have taken part, you already know why I am so enthusiastic about it.

I've been in the cosmetic business for almost 25 years, and I have never seen an event quite like Beauty Bash. I was struck by the people I met there, both from QVC and from the philosophy girls who attended. There was an excitement, an enthusiasm, and a sense of fun that permeated the two-day extravaganza. I loved meeting people who adore philosophy products as much as I do. There was a lot of sharing among all of the philosophy girls. Many participants taught me things I didn't know about our products. I heard so many great stories about each person's relationship with philosophy. I smiled and laughed more over those two days than I have in a long time. It felt good to be in the QVC community and everyone welcomed me, the new girl, with open arms. To everyone I met there, thank you for your warm welcome. I believe this is the one thing that made the greatest impression on me: the kindness and generosity of spirit that all of you extended to me and to every member of the philosophy team. It is what being a philosophy girl is all about.

I met philosophy families: grandmothers, mothers, daughters, and their friends who, despite generational differences, had something that they could all agree on and enjoy: a love of beauty and philosophy. I left the convention hall each night feeling very fortunate to have met many of the people that I will be visiting with when I begin my role as a philosophy on-air guest.

In fact, when I returned to the QVC studios a couple of weeks ago to learn more about my guest role, I surprised one of the hosts when he asked me if I felt nervous about facing the cameras during my first in-studio practice. I told Dan that though I felt Heidi Guestthe same butterflies anyone feels doing something new, I felt much less nervous than I expected because of my experiences at Beauty Bash. When it came time to look into the camera, I saw, through the lens, the wonderful women I had met: Kiki, Andrea, Susan, and Kelly (and the list goes on and on). Somehow, knowing these amazing individuals were going to be on the other side made what could have been a nerve -wracking experience feel instead, natural and comfortable. When the cameras began to roll and my host and I looked into them, I was able to picture people's faces and feel like I was talking to a new friend about a product that I loved (in this case, purity made simple, one of my all-time favorite philosophy products, but more on that later).

I will be joining my philosophy colleagues and QVC friends on air Tuesday, June 7th. I understand that there will be a studio audience, and I look forward to meeting the people who will be there. But, please know, if you are one of those spectacular women I met at the Beauty Bash event, I will be thinking of you, too. Until then, be well and remember, as we say at philosophy, “Every day is a holiday.” Until then, enjoy each one and I'll do the same.
