Last week I hit Cameron up for a little Q & A and this week the tables are turned. Cameron shot me a few questions and I answered. We hope you enjoy it!
Q: Who are your fashion icons?
A: Amal Clooney - Her style is so effortless, graceful, stunning, sexy without sexing it up. Ugh, and she has a British accent. I’m disgustingly jealous of her on multiple levels.
Lupita Nyong’o - I just love unorthodox beauty, and I love that Hollywood and beyond, celebrates her. The best part is her quiet confidence, her humility. It’s absolutely lovely.
Victoria Beckham - Just shamelessly love her look, her fashion sense, total Euro chic with a sport lux couture thing going on. And super dig her hairstyles.
And I’ll never forget and forever love the year Sharon Stone wore a men’s button down to the Oscars. Such a fabulous risk she took, such chic, class act, wit.
Q: What is your greatest fashion triumph?
A: Greatest? oh man, that’s a lot of pressure. One of the most recent at least that I just felt so beautiful, like, the hair, the dress, the makeup, it all worked, was during a NYC Fashion Week show live from QVC. The shoes were a splurge - Prada. I loved the dress bc it was sexy but flirty and simple (I’m not big into beading, sequin, prints, craziness) I love showing my shoulders (distracts from the hips), and while I’m not an elegant, “strike a pose” girl (I’d much rather take a goofy pic sticking my tongue out) I remember looking at this photo thinking, “gurlll, you brought it tonight”.
Second runner up would be on my wedding day. Dennis Basso dress. I felt positively regal and relaxed.
Q: What was your greatest fashion disaster?
A: Mexico City 1986. I grew up there as a kid. What 15yr old wears a blazer. It’s two sizes too big and the shoulder pads nearly devour me. I’m wearing way too much jewelry for a 8th grader, looks like an ad for “we pay cash for gold”. And my hair, and that clip in bow. It’s really...I just can’t. But props to me for at the time, thinking I looked fabulous.
Q: What/where is your happy place?
A: London. Followed by Italy. My soul lives in those places. My whole being secretly lives somewhere in Western Europe. The smell of jet fuel and the international terminal at the airport is like a drug to me.
Q: What is your guilty pleasure meal?
A: Amazing sushi. A spicy tuna roll done brilliantly is my obsession. Pasta Pesto in Italy. There is also an insane Truffle Pasta dish at Bouchon in Napa that makes you want to roll around naked in the sauce it’s so good. And the perfectly toasted crusty bagel with veggie schmear, lox, and the trimmings, for weekend breaky. (I’m so hungry right now)
Don't forget H by Halston is coming soon to the Q and to PM Style! I so cannot wait, not only for the fashions, but also to meet Cameron!!
