Give Winter the Boot!

It was one day last winter when the forecast was calling for a significant amount of snow. My husband was going to be out of town, so I asked him to show me how to use the snow blower, hoping of course that I wouldn't have to use it! Unfortunately for me, the weatherman was right. I woke up to five inches of snow and it still was coming down. It was windy, it was cold, and the last thing I wanted to do was go outside. I got dressed, layering all the clothes that I could to keep warm, but then suddenly realized that I didn't have a boot to handle what I was seeing through my window. I thought "no problem — I'll just slip on my husband's boots."

As I got outside and went "a-plowing," I actually started to have fun! After I finished our driveway and sidewalks, I decided to help out the neighbors and plow for them, too. About 15 minutes in to it, my neighbor opens her door and says, "Thanks, Jerry." I appreciated the thank you, but Jerry is my husband! Now I realize that she couldn't see my face, as I had a scarf wrapped around my nose and a hoodie over my head, but the last thing a woman wants is to be mistaken for a man! As I looked down at my attire, wondering why she thought I was my husband, it dawned on me that it had to be the boots! Yep — blue and yellow mid-calf duck boots.
