Gabrielle's Skincare Routine

Recently I had a request to write a blog to share some of my favorite beauty products.  I love to try different brands and products, so my beauty line up is always changing.  There are a few items though that I always go back to or can't live without.   The newest member of my beauty bag is today's special value from Peter Thomas Roth!  Check out his 4pc Award Winner Collection >>> HERE

 Let’s explore my beauty bag!

Let's start with HAIR.  My ALL-TIME favorite hair tool is the Chi styling iron.  After all these years, it's still my go-to because it can do it all:  straighten, curl, wave and add volume.  My CURRENT OBESSION is Tatcha's Gold Camellia Oil.  I use it on my hair to smooth fly aways, add shine and to hydrate my split ends.  It smells beautiful and I feel like I have less breakage because of it.

For my BODY, I use philosophy shower gel in Pure Grace or Fresh Cream.  If I feel I could use some extra exfoliation I will reach for philosophy's olive oil body scrub.  On those occasions when my skin feels extra rough I will use Kate Sommerville's Exfolikate on my body. Exfolikate was created for the face but I find it works well on my upper arms, shoulders and décolleté.

After showering I will choose Josie Maran's body butter in vanilla apricot if I'm wearing something that reveals more skin.  Otherwise I reach for philosophy's firming body emulsion in Pure Grace or Falling In Love.  Another tip: philosophy's whipped body creme is AMAZING for the feet!  It's richer than the lotion and instantly softens and moisturizes dry, skin.

When it comes to my SKIN CARE routine, it’s pretty simple.  I cleanse morning and night and follow the same evening routine.  AT NIGHT, after cleansing, I use Peter Thomas Roth's Retinol Fusion PM on my face and tarte's maracuja c-brighter eye treatment.  I've used some form or another of retinol/retinoid since my teen years.  I will never stop using retinols, for me it's just finding the right product.  I love retinol fusion because it's a serum, not a lotion or thick cream like I've always used in the past.  It's light and slippery, almost like water and a little goes a long way.  I can always see and feel a difference in my skin.

For my DAYTIME SKIN CARE, I will use a moisturizer if my skin feels tight or is dry.  I go between Dr. Dennis Gross' ferulic and retinol moisturizer or his hyaluronic moisture cushion moisturizer. I use my c-brighter eye treatment and then apply sunscreen.  I have lots of sun damage so to keep it from getting worse I always use a sunscreen.  Most of the time I will use Dr. Denese's SPF 30 Defense Day Cream.  If I feel I should have on some make up I will use IT Cosmetics cc illumination cream with spf 50.  This year I've tried a new SPF from Colorscience called sunforgettable.  It's a loose mineral powder SPF and it's so easy to apply because the applicator brush is built in to the component.

Just another tip, I like to use a mini spatula to scoop product out of jars.  One reason being I have long nails and don't like to get product under them.  The other reason is it's more hygienic.  You can introduce bacteria into the jar when using your fingers and that may break down the product.
