Everybody loves a classic. This week on Styled Out, we had a ton of trendsetting looks that all harkened back to classic cuts and fabrications.  Our stylist kept it simple, and kept it chic. Keeping our models on trend, basics were paired with feminine accent pieces that kept our models looking very fresh and very fashionable.

CARDIGAN: Joan Rivers I SKIRT: Joan Rivers I SHOES: Marc Fishe

Let’s talk day-to-night. Check out this look that Sheila was rocking during the show. The classic houndstooth cardigan keeps the look workplace appropriate but the combination of the leather pencil skirt, black tights, and fabulous Marc Fischer transition beautifully into date night.

JUMPSUIT: GK by George Katsiopolis I SHOES: Marc Fisher I BAG: Tiganello

Simply chic. I am borderline obsessed with this look. The jumpsuit silhouette is so hot right now, but the gorgeous wrap detailing gives it a timeless feel.  The peep toe Marc Fischer boots are very flirty and that satchel silhouette? Never going out of style. Head to toe, this look absolutely stuns.

Love this LOGO by Lori Goldstein cashmere sweater. First off, that cashmere? To die for. Secondly, the crew neckline gives it a classic feel while the lace detailing adds a fun flair. This is the epitome of modern meeting timeless. This is perfect for an effortlessly cute look on the weekends that is extremely figure flattering.

Speaking of LOGO by Lori Goldstein, Jessie Holeva was on the show this week to share her style expertise.  Jessie, a fashion blogger for Trendhungry.com always comes with a wealth of knowledge. I asked her how she stays fashionable in the fall, and she advised layering.

I know, I know – some of you are a little intimidated by layering.  I was always hesitant because I was worried it would add bulk to my short frame – however, Jessie brought up that when done correctly, layering will actually flatter your figure.   She threw in that with the colder temperatures, layering is a great tip for fall and a great tip for your wardrobe over all.

It’s always tempting to fill your closet with trendy pieces, however when building a wardrobe always go for those classic cuts. They’re standard pieces for a reason, and the easiest way to always look your best.

Tonight’s show had a ton of great looks that showed us that you can still look on trend while investing in pieces that will be just as fashionable in the years to come. Personally, I tend to splurge on basics while only purchasing trendy items if I can get them for a steal (the clearance section of qvc.com and I are very very tight).  How do you define your style?

Until next week,
