It has begun. We haven’t even eaten turkey and mash yet, and I’m already decorating for Christmas. And listening to Christmas music. And getting excited for snow (courtesy of Philosophy and a snow blowing machine)…
So far my biggest pride and joy is this wreath. It is a Valerie Parr Hill. Except our front door needed a slightly larger wreath with more drama, so so Valerie’s, I hot glued branches and twigs I found in our yard. God bless Gorilla glue, it’s awesome and I love this.
I burn candles all year long but particularly during the holidays, it’s a festivus of scent in our home. My favorites are from Bath & Bodyworks and their special “White Barn” collection, the spiced apple, pumpkin waffle, and Balsam are the best!
Next up I am putting together my E.D. On Air “Ellen” twig star light strand garland. Beyond adorable. And I’m trying to figure out what to do with some felt ball garland that I bought, that turned out too small for my tree…thoughts”
And I’m so excited because our foyer tree is about to get a jovial, Dr. Seussical, whimsical makeover once a bunch of VPH stuff I ordered arrived. I got Valerie’s Santa Hat tree topper, her glitter ball picks, her candy cane ornaments, and her glitter ball set in silver. Game on. For the moment, said Bethlehem Lights tree is sitting patient and proud…
And one of my favorite things during Christmas (other than the Charlie Brown Christmas CD and My Grandmas coffee cake) is the Bethlehem Lights Poinsettia topiaries and baskets they do. Ugh, love.
The only job I dread is the lights outside but Joe will help me. I would love lights in our trees but I’m too lazy to engineer a ladder and the lead cord so I’ll settle for these - VPH prelit presents on our porch and some accompanying lights in the shrubs.
Christmas is such a magical time of year, I just love it. ELF the movie, Polar Express, and any specials involving toy soldiers and the land of misfit toys, slay me. I genuinely wish there were a Santa’s workshop in the north pole complete with elves and magic hot chocolate I could visit. i would make a great toy soldier. Just saying.
Happy Thanksgiving (…even though I’m already celebrating Christmas)!
