Cheese Crisps- Easy Mexican Night Hack!

by ‎08-18-2015 11:29 AM - edited ‎08-20-2015 04:46 PM

Sunday night at the Hornback household was Taco night. After my mom fried up tortillas in oil (before you could buy hard shells), & after 7 of us built our tacos with seasoned ground beef, colby cheese, lettuce & diced tomatoes (hold the refried beans for me), we watched the "Wonderful World of Disney".  But before that was...Cheese Crisps!!

Ingredients:

Small Flour Tortillas

Margarine (or butter)

Grated Mexican cheese blend (or grate your own favorite cheese blend)

Pre-Heat the oven to 350 degrees.

Lay out tortillas on a cookie sheet.  Using a fork, poke small holes throughout (this will big air pockets from forming).  About 6 or 7 times should be plenty.

Next, butter each tortilla & bake until slightly golden & a little crunchy. (About 5 min).

Remove tortillas from the oven. Top with as much cheese as you like.

Put back in the oven & bake until the cheese is bubbly. (About 5 min).
