Foodies, this basic vinaigrette is something every home cook can master!

Makes 1 Cup!

  • 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
  • 1 shallot, minced
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed
  • 1 Tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 tsp honey
  • 1/4 tsp, plus 1/4 tsp for taste (if needed), salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 2 Tbsp fresh herbs (parsley, oregano, thyme), chopped
  • 3/4 cup olive oil

  1. Add all of the ingredients, except for the olive oil, in a food processor.
  2. While the food processor is running, slowly pour in a steady stream of olive oil to bind the oil and vinegar. Check seasoning and adjust with salt if needed.

Enjoy, Foodies!

This sounds most excellent.  I am trying it, minus the shallots of course.  Not a shallot girl.

David, Years ago in Memphis TN, St. Clair sold thier products in grocery stores.  Memphis is where they manufacture

products.  At that time, they made a pimento cheese to die for.  i wish QVC could manage to sell it as one of it's St. Clair's side dishes.

Love your're the light on a dark day.

I had my husband's family over to celebrate his 53rd birthday last week, and the salad that was served had this dressing on was fabulous!  When I tasted it, I broke out in a "Happy Dance", although not as good as yours when you do it.  I had to explain to the family as they thought I was nuts! haha!

This dressing is now known as "David's Dressing" in our house!  Thanks for another great recipe!
