Re: time for a new foundation

I have combo/oily skin & powder/mineral foundations don't work very well for me, as far as controlling my oil. They also disappear from my skin within a few hours. Liquid foundation works better, for me. I have several that I love & I wear them separately or mix them to get the color/coverage that I want. tarte tinted treatment bb primer SPF30 is my favorite. It's light, but gives nice coverage. Napolean Perdis China Doll has a bit more coverage. They have a small shade range, though. Revlon Colorstay Whipped has medium/full coverage & a strange color selection, & you have to work with it an area at a time, but it's a nice foundation. Mac Pro Longwear, Matchmaster & Studio Sculpt are all fairly similar for my needs. Nice colors to choose from. Great all day wear. I like them all. Studio Fix Fluid is good, too, for a bit more coverage. And, you can use any of the bottle for the Back To Mac Program. I do use Laura Gellar Balance & Brighten if I need a fast face & it is nice.

You might also try a Vit C Serum (I like Avalon Organics) under your BE or any foundation. It helps to keep me matte.

If you would like to stick with power I am really loving Tarte's Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Powder Foundation. Please don't be fooled by the full coverage name as this powder can be applied as sheer or for as much coverage as you desire. I realize you could get many different brand suggestions here, but I'll add that I've tried a lot of powder foundations and this AMazonian is one of the best ever.

Re: time for a new foundation

I was wondering about the laura geller balance and brighten but I've seen a lot of problems with color matching consistency and a powder look to them. That has held me off. I watch Mally but haven't tried anything besides the eye stuff. I have always heard good things about MAC but wasn't sure how pricey it is.

I am trying a Garnier BB cream right now that isn't too bad. I am still wondering about Tarte too!

Re: time for a new foundation

I was using Clinique, but I had a difficult time finding the right shade. A few weeks ago, I went to Ulta and decided to try Smashbox Liquid Halo. They also had a Smashbox "try me" kit with the powder, BB cream, and primer. I really like the results and I'm glad I switched.

Re: time for a new foundation

I am going to try the new bare minerals BareSkin liquid foundation. QVC has it now and it will be in the boutiques in May. I be waiting till then in order to get the perfect color match. This foundation is oil and silicone free, and has very few ingredients (none of which are water!). With regards to the IT Cosmetics CC product, there are so many ingredients in there, I cannot understand how there could be any benefit to one's skin. Since yours is acne prone, I would avoid it.

Re: time for a new foundation

I stopped using bareMinerals when I turned 50 and switched to a liquid formula. I tried a few different items and decided I'd never find anything as foolproof as the minerals. But now I use Lumene BB cream and I'll never go back to foundation.
