If you start brushing with Sensodyne Maximum Strength toothpaste a week before using whitestrips or do any other bleaching, it really helps with the sensitivity. Then just continue using it during and after the whitening treatment. 8)

I agree and was told by my dentist to use Sensodyne Max a week prior to having my teeth whitened professionally with Zoom to prevent sensitivity and it worked . I also have trays & professional product, also from my dentist, that I use periodically and I brush daily with Supersmile. It takes work and dedication to keep your teeth white. I actually gave up my morning tea but its worth it to have a white & beautiful smile.

Good points, but you really don't have to give up enjoying your morning tea. I'm a lifelong tea lover (no coffee), so I know LOL.

Experts say that if your brush your teeth immediately after drinking tea or coffee, you'll get rid of anything that could stick to the enamel. 8)

Also, if you drink cola, always sip it with a straw.

Thanks for the advise!!! I will go back to my one tea in the morning and bush immediately following.

Brushing after putting anything in your mouth will stop stains from happening, but it's not very practical! If you swish water in your mouth after drinking coffee/tea and or chew gum it would help too.

Good tip on using sensodyne a week before whitening, I always used it right after and it never really helped. My teeth are super sensitive to whitening. I currently have the Crest Senstive white strips that you use for only 5 minutes at a time, and don't even use them every day because I'm afraid of the sensitivity.

We're talking about Oil Pulling with coconut oil on anther thread, that's supposed to whiten teeth as well.

Yes - thanks for mentioning that. Every little bit helps. Thanks for the coconut oil-pulling tip, too.

I hope that daily use of the Sensodyne prior to whitening/bleaching helps your teeth's sensitivity.

I use baking soda and peroxide.

Works beautifully.

Yes, I also tried it and it quickly shows the result. There are also few more simple methods for teeth whitening at home. You can rub the strawberry pulp/few drops of lemon juice on the teeth to clear the stains. A paste of baking powder is useful as well. A mixture of vinegar and salt can work well as mouthwash. So people can try such simple techniques too.

I made my own trays and I get the professional strength whitener from my dentist. I use Zoom Nite white 22%. I leave in 1.5hrs once a week. Keeps my teeth pearly white. Coffee and red wine drinker here. LOL

I've been swishing with coconut oil and it really whitens without irritation. It's good for cleansing the mouth. Be sure and spit into the garbage as the oil solidifies at normal temps.

I've been using olive oil and I've noticed it has addressed my tea stains.

Yes. It is always better to seek the advice from the dentist before using such products. According to the condition of your teeth, dentists can suggest the best suitable product for you. But you can check a few things like expiry date, contents, restrictions which are mentioned on the product. Know more about how to choose dental care products at http://bit.ly/1mub4SX

I second that. It really works but do not gargle with it as it picks up the bacteria in your mouth and then you would spread it to your throat.
