Very disappointed in the bottle I got.

It wouldn't foam at all. Avon is better.

I got hard water, but, do have whole house water

softener.

Didn't work for me. I'd be afraid to use it on colored hair , too.  Might strip your color even if it doesn't foam or bubble like they claim.

@SharkE

I am surprised to hear that yours is not foaming.  I no longer purchase the philosophy fragrances as I think they smell different now.  Makes me sad as I always loved Amazing Grace.

But I still purchase the shower gels as I love them.  I too have a whole house water softener and mine work great.  In fact I just got a 32 oz chocolate chip cookie clearanced out at Marshall's for $10.00!  Have a bunch of older ones and newer ones and they are still foaming.  I do not use them as shampoo.  Just body washes.

What flavor is yours?

I don’t take baths so I don’t know how it works for bubble bath. I do have color treated hair and have used it occasionally for shampoo. It’s fine. It’s generally best to use shampoo for color treated hair anyway.

Re: philosophy bubble bath

I haven't taken a bath in years but it does bubble quite nicely in the shower.  I don't use as a shampoo b/c I shampoo with sulfate free shampoo on my color treated hair but DH does.  His hair is oily and it does a great job for him.  Maybe you could use it as a shave cream.

I don't know which fragrance you got but having had many Philosophy shower gels/bubble baths, in my experience some fragrances foam and bubble more than others. They don't last a real long time, maybe 4-5 min. tops, in the bath. They do foam well, with a "scrunchy" wash puff, in the shower. I think we have hard water too.

As for using on my hair, I've only ever done that randomly once here and there...and I have colored hair too. My hair came out nice, didn't strip it, but can't tell if it might with repetitive use. I'd probably stick to your favorite, gentle shampoos, because color tends to fade no matter what, so, best to use the best haircare on it.

When my grandchildren were younger and took bubble baths in the jacuzzi tub, there were tons of bubbles and foam using Philosophy bath gels.

I stopped buying Phil shower gels a few years ago, full of sulfates and chemicals and all the pretty cclors are just artificial dyes and colorants.
