need makeup help

Has anyone used merle normans makeup, several people I know are using the total finish compact foundation from there and really like it. Iam 54 with normal to dry skin and am in need of some recommendations Iam currently using el double wear and have used it for years but almost out and I was wondering if there was something that might be a better choice. I dont want to look made up at all but definately need to wear something. I envy those that dont need to wear a foundation but I feel I look better with something. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
