I had this--- I used WEN Tea Tree for two weeks (never used it before or since---don't like the smell) and it cleared up and never came back.

Hello, bosmamaa. Smile

I noticed that you said this happens to your hair this time of the year. It might be what's called winter hair. In the winter, the hair and skin can get very dry. I use something called Nick Chavez Traditions Yucca Root shampoo and conditioner. The shampoo tube even has the word moisture on it. I also use something from Nick Chavez called Velvet Mesquite Serum. This will also tame that annoying frizz that happens. It won't make your hair oily or greasy, either.

Hope you find something that works for you.

I was reading recently that women who are experiencing hormonal changes can get itchy skin and scalp.

Maybe look into an all natural shampoo that does not contain sulfates. Sulfates and other chemicals can really dry out your scalp and even though you don't have dandruff it can be itchy. There are shampoos out there that do not contain sulfates that are far less expensive than WEN if you are concerned about pricing.

I have had an itchy scalp for most of my life. Had to wash my hair everyday or it would start itching and driving me nuts! I heard that sugar can cause this...so I went off of sugar. I have a little bit here and there, but can wash every other day with no itching. Once in a while I wash it on the 3rd day and am doing okay. I wonder if that would help you? It could be more weather related. My Dad, son and brother all have this too...they use Head & Shoulders with the conditioner. They of course wash their hair everyday and seem to do okay. Takes me a lot of work to curl my hair, so everyday got to be too much.

I am also just noticing itchy scalp, but my hair seems more oily than ever. I usually do not shampoo everyday anyway, but lately seems I am needing shampoo more often, but then there is itchy scalp. I don't understand this at all!! Oily hair/itchy scalp,lol..

Hi Suzi---if that is true about sugar, this may be the culprit for me!!! I love chocolate and bake almost every weekend. Luckily I've never had a weight problem and I eat pretty healthy otherwise but hate to give up my baking!!! I guess I will try to back off cuz I know I should anyway!

I've recommened this company SO many times on this forum. These products must be purchased online. They are a little pricey ($26.99), but a bottle lasts me a good 4-5 months. The company is justnaturalskinandhair.com They make a shampoo called itchy scalp and a companion conditioner. I suffered itchy scalp for YEARS until someone shared the info about this product with me. You will not believe what it will do for your scalp and it leaves your hair gorgeous and conditioned. If you are not happy, you can return it. You owe yourself a try!

thats my problem also -- seems to be getting even oilier all the time and my scalp itches even while it is being washed == by me or a hairdresser. I am too old by far for hormonal changes -- have had oily hair since I was 15.

I've had problems for over two years with an itchy scalp, and skin rashes. Mine is related to a health problem, so everything I tried has borought no relief...including prescriptions. I still try new products, hoping I'll hit on something that will help. I really relate to all of you experiencing this. It's really torment, and interferes with sleep. Keep trying products...hopefully something will help. See a Dr. if it continues.

Some of you might have success with a boar's hair bristle brush, which will help work the oil through the rest of the hair.

I have one like this, that also has the plastic bristles.
