how long do you keep opened makeup?

I know that opened mascara should be discarded after a few months. But...how long do you keep Bare Escentuals mineral eye and face products? And how long do you keep Laura Geller baked eyeshadows and face products?

My impression is that BE mineral makeup can be kept indefinitely. Not sure about Laura Geller baked items but I have emailed her site to ask when those items should be replaced.
