false eyelashes

ugh! I bough the Ja'maal false eyelashes and the ratings are great and users say how easy they are to apply. I am good at applying makeup but why can't I get these to work for me? I don't have skimpy lashes or anything, but I can't seem to get using that tool down or the lashes to apply correctly. Any pointers? I'm frustrated as I really want to use these for my wedding!
