Back in 2012 I tried wen for the first time. I liked pumpkin but only for the smell. i have a pumpkin fettish. All the cc's Did NOTHING for my hair.Cucumber stripped my color out and I had a massive reaction to tea tree i turned red as a lobster! I do love his oils and mousse tho and will buy that only. Every once in a while I try a seasonal thinking maybe this time it will work but it never does. His oils are worth the money at least. If you have dry scaly red skin in the winter it heals it right up. I think chaz is a good person and all but he stretches the truth about other shampoos in order to sell his product. Any high quality shampoo will not damage your hair. heat, flat irons... etc will but a quality salon brand shampoo will not. Since i switched from drugstore to salon shampoos my hair improved 100%!

Just in case you forgot, I want to remind you that you have stated that you use Wen as a conditioner after you use shampoo. Now, you don't except for a seasonal maybe but they don't ever work. Stay tuned, next post a different story. LOL!

Believe me, DL, we all know. {#emotions_dlg.lol}

I never got on the WEN bandwagon. When it was first presented Chaz said something about using 12-16 pumps per use and I thought I was hearing wrong. Plus, I don't like using heavily scented product on my hair - it gives me headaches. I must say though, someone at WEN is a marketing genius because there are legions of avid followers/"collectors".

Of course, I took their advice and, instead of complaining about it, I just changed the channel. It's hard to miss, however, especially during June/WEN month. I was just flipping during a commercial the other day and my eyes popped out of my head when I saw the price for one of those big jugs - almost $200 (with *reduced* s/h) ! ! ! ! The day that I pay $200 for a bottle of shampoo will be the day that I bring home a million $ paycheck. Sorry, not for this girl, that's just crazy! I can't imagine what kind of ingredients justify a price like that and can't help but think that Chaz is laughing all the way to the bank. The profit on one of those jugs must be insane!

Your concern is touching but don't concern yourself with how we choose to spend our money and we promise not to give 2 s*&!s how you spend yours...deal?

She did not say she was concerned with how you spend your money. She said she would buy it when she brought home a million dollar pay check and that it was not for her.

Let's not leave out the oils! She uses the oils, but they aren't any good either! She'll let you know how long a 16 oz bottle lasts, but she just uses hers as shave cream.

I got it. Wink

Seems everyone's temper is beginning to flare a bit. I think by the end of the month, it has become tiring to see so much Wen but QVC will keep airing it until sales warrant otherwise.

I'm not a Wen shampoo user - it didn't work well for my super fine hair, however, I did use it as a conditioner after shampooing until I finished up the lot I bought. And I do get annoyed with Chaz's claim that "all other shampoos" will strip your hair. I had a color apt last week and had delayed it a few weeks longer than normal so it ended up being 10 weeks since my last color. The first thing my stylist commented on was the fact that my color looked as great as when she just finished coloring it at the last visit and immediately inquired about what did I use on my hair because obviously it had no negative impact on my color.

So not all other products are disastrous for our hair nor will Wen work for everyone. I just think a full month of any product, repeatedly aired over and over and over, will aggravate the majority. I am guessing even some Wen users are weary of the Wen shows.

And I do agree that the profits made from these gallons would probably come as a real shock to even those who love it. Yet that would be true for most other shampoos sold in similar quantities. My guess is they likely don't cost more than $25, if even that, to produce - that is my guess only and not based on any insider facts. Just guessing based on typical markups of products sold in this quantity.

And yes, Chaz has become a rich man which I see nothing wrong with - he developed something that met the needs of many so kudos to him! Boy though, he must go home at the end June each year with a huge smile on his face - wouldn't we all?

If it's so wonderful why are they all talking about mixing it with something else?

why would anyone pay $180 for a gallon of poo is beyond reality

The same reason why a person would buy a Mercedes Benz rather than a VW. Because they want to and because they can.

Not that it should matter to you as you don't seem to be wanting to purchase, but the "something else" they are mixing it with is other formulas of WEN. Some people mix for different scent experiences, some mix because different formulations provide different levels of moisture or lift. No biggie, just something fun to do.
