Don't be so fast to make fun of pin curls. It's just another way of making the hair form into a curl, and probably without such a degree of heat.

I was growing up during the end of pin curls, I remember my mom and I doing that to each other's hair.

If Chaz is making pin curls, it's probably an "updated" version. Remember everything old is new again.

My mother made a spit curl on her forehead (to the side) and used those metal pins.

Not a traditional pin curl set. He pins the curls he makes with the brushes to keep them fresh on days where the models have shows from midnight one day to 11:00pm the next day.
