When I was in high school, a hundred years ago, I had large, clogged pores on my nose. I used Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque. Also, for cleaning, Ivory Bar Soap. I believe the bar soap cleaned the pores out the best. Suds the area in a circular motion. Let set for ten minutes or so, rinse well. Pat dry. Worked for me, as I recall. I still use Ivory Bar Soap, BTW.

I still use the QH Mint Julep Mask on a regular basis! If I ever get a surprise zit, one of my treatment methods is to put a glop of the mask on and leave it there overnight. In the morning, the zit is gone or at least there's marked improvement.

This is interesting because I used Dr. Bonner's peppermint soap for the first time over the holidays and it really helped the few breakouts I had on my skin, completely cleared them. I never realized peppermint would do this. It worked better than the tea tree oil soap I'd been using for my face.

You might want to try The Oil Cleansing Method - Google it for info & rave reviews. I use organic Castor oil for my combo skin. It really cleans out the pores, softens fine lines, etc.

If you can afford it, go for a facial. It has done magic on my pores. Some salons have a esthetician on staff. I just a 30 min. facial for $50 in my area as a gift. It really is worth the money. I do not usually blow my $$ but this I do.
