I have never gotten it straight how to use the cleansing conditioner. You put n wet hair , massage then rinse it out or leave it in? I know the word "shampoo" insults some fans but I am still trying to figure how what "cleanse" is.

Cleanse is washing your hair, same as shampoo. Put it on your hair, massage it in, rinse it out. Shampoo is a product you use to clean your hair with. WEN us just another product to clean your hair with.

You cleanse you hair two times, the first is really the cleansing part, the second is the conditioning , the first you use like regular shampoo, rinse it out, the second is conditioning and I usually leave it on about 5 to 10 minutes and then I rinse that out .

Rinse out. Just like you would a shampoo Wink After rinsing it out completely, some people add a little bit back as a leave-in conditioner (I have always needed to do this even when using traditional S&C).

Reminds me of Pantene 2 in 1 shampoo. Thanks for the replies.

traveler, you need to add water to froth the cleanser up and massage it in just like you would shampoo...then rinse it out thoroughly. Put in your 2nd cleanse amount and let it sit while you finish your shower, then froth that up and rinse. After that is when you do the leave-in.

I'm kind of new to this myself (less than a year), and it took me a bit to realize that I needed way more than a "splash" of water to froth the stuff up and make it easier to rinse. I just run my head under the shower spray for a second.

Cleanse = (pretty much same as shampoo MINUS the stripping, bubbly detergent agents). So think - the more gentle version of shampoo. That is cleansing Smiley Happy Cleaning while moisturizing vs cleaning while stripping (which is what shampoo does).
