Hi kittie, you have to remember that Chaz is a professional stylist and he is styling the models' hair for TV.

That will be hard to recreate at home.

This was my thought exactly--you have to have realistic expectations. Unless you have Chaz in your bathroom every morning, it probably won't ever look like the models hair. I believe everyone gave her good advice though to help her get her hair as good as it can be.

yeah I guess so Smiley Sad I guess I will always struggle with my hair unless I damage it with a flat iron which chaz says not to do so I can't ever truly win with wen!! He says stuff not to do but what does he expect!! Thanks for the advice everyone will keep stuff in mind!! Thanks everyone!!

Don't be discouraged. The more you use Wen, the better your hair will get. You just need to find what works best for you and eventually you will have the best hair you have ever had Smiley Happy

Kudos to Denise from Canada! After reading far too many posts from women wanting "Wen" hair, I believe what they really want is the "Wen Model" hair. I used to work as a fitness trainer, and I would have forty year-old women come in wanting to look like Demi Moore! I would ask them if they ever looked liked that {#emotions_dlg.laugh}, and we would share a laugh! Without exception, all answered no. I would tell them that I could get them into the best shape for who they were, but I doubted I could magically transform them into Demi Moore. I have stated on these forums before that I am basically lazy and cheap when it comes to my hair, and, for ME, Wen is the most economical and easiest product I have ever used. My hair looks terrific and my scalp feels healthy. I use the cc and sc, but I rarely use any of the other products. Kittieslover, I hope you find the right combination of products. I recently started a friend on POM; she has naturally curly, extremely damaged hair, and she loves the POM. I wouldn't stress too much though; we are usually our own worst critics. Good luck.

Haha! I used to go to a hairdresser who displayed a sign, "I'm a beautician, not a magician!"

Ohhh, I would love to have movie star body, but sadly yes, we have to work with what we are given, hair and body!! There are three runners in my family, and my two sisters who run are both tall and lean, they have what I call a runners body, I am however very short and have a stocky build, as much as I would love to stretch out, that is never going to happen! My husband jokingly says I have have the body of a very fit smurf! And even if I still would love to be able to wear a maxi summer dress, and I complain about my shortness all the time, I really have no complaints about my hair anymore, since finding wen, I am really happy with my hair, even if its not " model hair" .

I like the Wen products and have used them off/on for several years. And yes, my hair is the shiniest and grows great - however, I lose sooooooooooo much hair I have to quit using it. I'm really frustrated by it and don't understand. Anyone with same issue/remedy?

It may be the combination of ingredients is causing irritation on your scalp, which could be the hair loss trigger. What shampoos did you switch to afterwards? Any tingling? I am allergic to the methyl---zone preservatives used in Wen and many other hair/skin car products. These preservatives are also not recommended for use with products that are not rinsed off immediately because of the potential for irritation. Additionally, many of the essential oils used in wen, and other natural products, (rosemary, lavender, mint, citrus oils, etc) can also be irritating, sensitizing, and eventually trigger allergic reactions. It may be worth seeing an allergist for a skin-patch test or at least consulting your GP. Your body chemistry changes over time, and skin develops different sensitivities. I have had too many dates with Benadryl and epi-pens to not read labels thoroughly before I try anything. I have had hair loss triggered by contact dermatitis. Also, humans tend to shed hair more in the spring and fall. Is this when you discovered too much hair in the shower?

Re: anyone have problems with wen??

Love it, but not all of it.

I recommend that you do NOT do a leave in pump of product after rinsing very well, and that you do use one pump of the styling cream on wet hair before styling. Great results.

Also like the Alterna CC cream for hair or Living Proof 5 in1.

Re: anyone have problems with wen??

You know what I think people have trouble with is blow drying like a professional.  I do get the results the models get.  The thing is I'm not a professional hair dresser so styling cannot be duplicated like theirs but I really do get the results as far as shine, bounce and body, fullness, suppleness.  People always do a double take at me and some approach me asking me with amazement what I do to it.  I tell ya, I took taking for granted how to use a kitchen knife.  Well, after trying to work in my kitchen preparing food, I went through boxes of band aides like....well you get the drift.  I did the same thing with my hair.  It took years just to get a decent blow dry.  I still cannot even roll my hair around my fingers and get a bobby pin to stay in.  The models hair is set with rollers and blown out.  That's probably why their hair has such root lift and bounce.  Styling is very key.  I don't even count pumps.  My hair is very long (down to top of my waist band) so I just make sure my scalp and hair are all creamed up well and I cleanse twice.  I use 2 pumps of leave in and 2 of styling creme AND I spray the ends and mid shaft with replensishing spray too and ALOT.  I need hydration because of the length and we have hard water.  I always say I don't want my hair to look like a tree without leaves.

Re: anyone have problems with wen??

Oh my goodness.  I did not know you posted that.  I did not mean to post the same kind of reply.  Yes, I agree.  You need a decent stylist to get those kind of results.  It's not the Wen.   One needs extreme dexterity in styling.  It took me years to even master what I can now.  I don't have professional training so I can only watch tutorials but a formal teaching is quite different.  Some people take to it better so it's a plus if you already have innate hand/finger dexterity, honestly.  I tell you no lie.  Wen really does give those kind of results we see on the shows.  I use the oils three nights a week and the re-moist once per week and that's important too.  It builds strength and elasticity in the hair.  People think I color my hair and I haven't done that for many years.  I cut off all the coloring.  Wen is so wonderful that even with my hair going platinum (yuk) it looks like I have had tinting because of all the different hues that show like highly polished wood.  People ask all the time, do you color?  I tell them no it's the Wen you're seeing.  If I was using shampoo it would not look like this.  I have a photo of myself after years of coloring and shampooing.  My hair looks like some flotsom that someone just plopped on top of my head.

Re: anyone have problems with wen??

how/why does year old posts get bumped up? If the last post was back in July of 2014, wouldn't it be pages and pages back? You'd really have to search to find them. I have a hard time finding threads from just a few weeks ago, lol!

kittie, are you towel-drying your hair? Lots of the girls with "fuller" hair especially say they can't use regular towels (not because of Wen of course) but need to use either an old tshirt or some kind of microfiber turbie thing, even paper towels to blot their hair. Rubbing your hair with coarse towels tangles, catches, breaks and roughs up the cuticle defeating your hopes for "smooth" hair.

Also, besides using enough CC for cleansing are you using enough as a leave in? If you have long hair and lots of it you might need up to two pumps (16oz bottle pump) as a leave in. And make sure you do it in the shower while your hair is SOAKING wet; it should still be dripping. Work that CC into your hair as you've watched Chaz do on his models. Press it into your hair so it is soaked up by each individual hair.

Then add your styling cream while your hair is still dripping wet. Work it in well too. Many of the gals say they add a couple of drops of the oil to their CC or styling cream as part of their leave in. Of course they apply it to the mid-shaft and length only. (You probably don't want to apply oil to your head before styling unless your scalp is really dry.)

Then pin it up on your head while you wrap a towel around your neck or gently wrap the turbie around it all so it can "marinate" for a little bit while you apply your body oils, lotions, face creams, etc.

Chaz actually advocates air-drying your hair whenever possible. But if you do blow dry try to air-dry as much as possible first. Try not to start blowdrying before it's 75% dry already.

Have you seen his demos for blow drying? Google it. It does take some practice especially when you do it to yourself Smiley Wink Hang in there and you will get better at it.

Good luck and feel free to post more questions on the Wen forum. There are many others on here with more experience with your hair type Smiley Wink

KJPA, good to see you!!!

Great advise (especially using a t-shirt to dry your hair)!! btw,

I always air-dry my hair but I didnt realize that Chaz recommends it. Good to know!!
