On 7/6/2014 KJPA said:kittie, are you towel-drying your hair? Lots of the girls with "fuller" hair especially say they can't use regular towels (not because of Wen of course) but need to use either an old tshirt or some kind of microfiber turbie thing, even paper towels to blot their hair. Rubbing your hair with coarse towels tangles, catches, breaks and roughs up the cuticle defeating your hopes for "smooth" hair.
Also, besides using enough CC for cleansing are you using enough as a leave in? If you have long hair and lots of it you might need up to two pumps (16oz bottle pump) as a leave in. And make sure you do it in the shower while your hair is SOAKING wet; it should still be dripping. Work that CC into your hair as you've watched Chaz do on his models. Press it into your hair so it is soaked up by each individual hair.
Then add your styling cream while your hair is still dripping wet. Work it in well too. Many of the gals say they add a couple of drops of the oil to their CC or styling cream as part of their leave in. Of course they apply it to the mid-shaft and length only. (You probably don't want to apply oil to your head before styling unless your scalp is really dry.)
Then pin it up on your head while you wrap a towel around your neck or gently wrap the turbie around it all so it can "marinate" for a little bit while you apply your body oils, lotions, face creams, etc.
Chaz actually advocates air-drying your hair whenever possible. But if you do blow dry try to air-dry as much as possible first. Try not to start blowdrying before it's 75% dry already.
Have you seen his demos for blow drying? Google it. It does take some practice especially when you do it to yourself
Hang in there and you will get better at it.
Good luck and feel free to post more questions on the Wen forum. There are many others on here with more experience with your hair type
**************************************************************What a great answer! This post should be copied/pasted (or whatever it's called--I am nnot tech.-savvy!) on the WEN Boards at the top! Very helpful post! thanks

Great idea, I think I will try that. ![]()

I've bought and used every product he sells. Believe me, I have a dear friend I donate that stuff to. She loves it.
I have the gallon tub that I haven't given her.
Annabelle, I think your hair type is more like mine. Very fine, straight and a lot of it. I don't think kittie has the same problems so these comments aren't intended for her
I wish she could share some of that volume she's complaining about and I would be happy to share some of my flat/straight with her!!!
Mine tends to lay flat on my head no matter how it's cut. I've almost always kept it really short and I often said I look like a little boy if I don't add TONS of product and strong hairspray.
Wen helped me but I still wanted more volume. Then I tried using the Wen Re-Moist as a leave-in after cleansing, while my hair is soaking wet. I don't add any CC as a leave in. Since my hair is still short I only need about a half teaspoon. It doesn't take much! I then scrunch it up with my fingers and let it air dry. When it's dry or almost dry I can then put in about 10 Velcro rollers and leave them in about 10 minutes or until dry. BAM! I got my volume without adding anything else! Love it now
No other product ever worked for me like these do. My hair is still soft but with lots of volume like I wanted. It feels great and looks great, if I may say so myself!
