Don't neglect your face when you're pumping irons or hitting the treadmill down the gym. Your face needs to be worked out too.
Simple Skincare Fitness Expert, Anna Reich, has developed a range of facial yoga exercises to make sure the muscles in your face get proper attention and keep you looking young and firm.
Today - she is showing us the move that will give your mouth a Jolie boost...
Tongue Twister
'As you age, your lips thin/recede, so we need to keep them as outwards and plump as possible. You do this through pushing the muscle outwards, moulding/manipulating it. Ever noticed a trumpet players lips? Same effect!
Major muscles worked: Obicularis Oris
How to: Trace your tongue around the inside of your lips 3 times in one direction and then 3 times in the other
Kiss the Sky
To plump and firm the lips and firm the jawline and neck.
Major Muscles Worked: Obicularis Oris
How to: Tilt your head back gently and kiss the sky (exaggeratedly and enthusiastically!) 10 times. The kissing motion should be loud and exaggerated. After your 10th kiss, exhale via one long, prolonged kiss. Relax and then repeat twice more.'

I've heard that facial exercises give you wrinkles. Think about it. Laugh lines? Marionette lines? Wrinkled lips?

That tongue twister was new for me! I guess I've been hanging too much with the strings because I never really noticed brass players' mouth shapes.
I really do believe in maintaining facial/neck contour, which you can achieve without any special (expensive) gadget.
TY for sharing!

There are some yoga facial exercises on YouTube, too!
OH -- Do you have a YouTube insert there? If so, it's not showing up on my monitor. So if NOT, there are some on YouTube, too. If YES, never mind. :-)

That happened to me when I started doing exaggerated vowel exercises. Started getting deeper marionette lines. Increased wrinkles and lines have happened to users of the facial flex device too. I don't know why it affects some and not others.

Facial exercising/toning has been around a long time. There was a woman in the 1960's who had a television show who demonstrated facial exercises and toning. Her name is Senta Maria Runge (or Madam Runge, I remember from back then). My Mom watched the show and started doing those exercises religiously and even bought her book "FACE LIFTING BY EXERCISE (For Women & Men over Twenty-one)" which she still has. My Mom will be 87 in a couple of weeks and she looks pretty darn good.
