I'm really enjoying the origins of all the poster's names, too. 😀

Re: YOUR POST NAMES/NICKNAMES

Sorry for your loss. It is true that every time we adopt/purchase a dog, we have to prepare to out live it. I've been through it several times as my beagles reach 12-15 yrs. old. Each one always keeps a place in our hearts. Thanks for sharing.

I am a cat lover.  I love Hello Kitty but there was a very nice neighbor cat that hung around outside and whenever she was on our banister I would say, "Hello kitty" and love on her. For some reason when the Q changed their forums a year or so ago I couldn't sign in as just Hellokitty and had to add the 2.

@hellokitty  Yes, I also love cats!  (You can tell by my sig.)  Some kitties are such a joy.  A few years ago, I met the friendliest cat ever on my jogging route.  I started down this dead end side street, when about 100 feet in front of me I spotted a tabby walking up a driveway. Suddenly, he looked over at me, stopped dead in his tracks, and started walking toward me.......just like a dog might do!  Of course I stopped and approached him.  He just loved and loved on me, and almost wouldn't let me leave.  After that day we would always look for each other and have another few moments together before I continued my jog.  It turned out he was the "neighborhood cat", with the home where I first saw him in the driveway being his mainstay.

Re: YOUR POST NAMES/NICKNAMES

I stumbled on mine by accident when I was looking for a user name for some web site. Wrote out my first & last names, started with the first letter & then wrote every other letter --it spells out Jancade!

I wish I'd picked a different nick, but I was in a hurry.  I've thought of so many better nicknames since.  Oh welllllll.....  I wanted to give a hint to where I live.  Since I'm smack in the middle of the Land of Oz (ahem), in my rush, all I could think of was the movie quote, "and your little dog Toto, too."    So there ya go.

Re: YOUR POST NAMES/NICKNAMES

mine is a name we gave a pet yorkie we had but he is no longer with us now. I picked the name for him cause my husband calls me darling alot and I liked the name dino from the flintstones. It went together well and became our little yorkies name. So now it is my nickname here and keeps his memory alive for me everytime I see it.

I used to collect owls & have over 100. LOL!!! I had to box most of them up as I got tired of dusting them all every week. Also DH used to work nights & we were up until 2-4 AM. Not anymore. I'm ready to jump in bed by midnight now.

Re: YOUR POST NAMES/NICKNAMES

One day when my now 18 year old grandson was very young, he looked around at all my beauty items & said, "Gram, you & all your pathetic cosmetics".

He was & is still correct. Pathetic that I still have so many to use up. I no longer buy into any hype & the only thing I order is something from Josie for my birthday.

Re: YOUR POST NAMES/NICKNAMES

Before I retired I was a nurse. A patient who did not know my name needed to ask me a question. She told the receptionist that she needed to speak to the Tricolor nurse. My hair is highlighted blonde so I assume that she was referring to my hair color. That certainly got a good laugh in the office.
