Why so many OT posts?

Just logged on to read the latest beauty posts and after wading past several off topic posts, I wonder why so many post off topic in this forum? Is there something wrong with a more "on topic" forum? Just curious. Seems like it sort of defeats the purpose of having specific forums...{#emotions_dlg.confused1}
