Hi All,
I've been hearing about this Salux cloth and read that many of you who use it, do not use it on your face. Just curious why not?

I have tough skin, but to use one of these on my face I'm afraid would result in broken caps. It's simply much too harsh when there are other ways to exfoliate my face-- those which I can use effectively.
I'm sure it's great for some... but I'll reserve the salux cloth for my body.

I think it would be way too rough to use on your face. I agree with FunLoving that it could cause broken capilaries. I use a Wonder Cloth on my face in the morning with water only. In the evening I just use a cleanser.

It's much too abrasive for my face, but is perfect for all the rough areas on my body. On the other hand, when I initially gave one of the Salux cloths to my mother - she thought they were supposed to be used on the face (don't ask me why, lol!). I didn't realize she was doing this until a few weeks later, but she says she loves it and continues to use it on her face with no issues.

I have used it on my face gently when I wake up with retin-a flakes. Especially if it is not my microderm cream day. I had sent an email to the company about having washcloth sizes for the face and they did not recommend it for the face although they have heard of people doing it.

NickNack, hi! What is a Wonder Cloth? Does it softly exfoliate?
ETA: Nevermind.
Google tells all!

Thanks for the replies! I didn't realize they were so rough.
Have any of you used those nylon bath gloves you find at the drugstore? Is the salux cloth as rough/scratchy as those, because I find those bath gloves very rough.

While the Salux is rough, it's not scratchy - maybe due to the difference in material(?) IMO, it does not compare at all to the drugstore gloves. It is never too rough to use, and I never feel any pain or discomfort from the cloth.

Irishrose, It's like a wash cloth that softly exfoliates. I only use it in the morning, but it works well removing make-up too. They have a website where you can read about it. I buy mine at Bed Bath & Beyond. If you do buy one don't ever use fabric softener with it. It doesn't work properly after that.
